Women — can you spare a suit?

business womenWhen you go into the office or meet an important client, you dress for success, right?

But what if you were having financial difficulties and couldn’t afford a new suit?

Dress for Success Indianapolis is working to give professional women the clothing they need to land the job and for their first few weeks on the job, until they can afford to buy their own business clothing. And they need your help — the organization is holding a Send One Suit Week drive the week of April 4-8.

According to the group’s website, various locations are collecting donations of one suit, one blouse and a monetary gift. The website also has information about the collection and participation, if you want to learn more about how you can help. Or, e-mail jennifer@indydfs.org, or visit the drive’s Facebook page here.

The idea behind the donations is that women become empowered to be not only economically independent, but thrive in both work and life. Nearly half of the suits provided to women are donated during this drive.

This post is brought to you by the good folks at Dale Carnegie Training of Central Indiana, providers of professional development and management development courses and information in Indiana. We would love to connect with you on Facebook.
